What size air purifier do I need?

It’s important to match the unit’s rated room capacity to the size of the largest room that it will be used in. You can view each of our model's room capacity on its respective product page, making it quick and easy to see if it will be right for your space.

How often should I replace the filters?

Typically, HEPA  and activated carbon filters last up to12 months with continuous use. However, it is always a good idea to refer to the user manual to view the manufacturers guidelines.

Can air purifiers kill viruses

Depending on the size of the virus, yes they trap them if a true HEPA is used. Models fitted with plasmawave technology or UV-C light can kill microorganisms, including viruses that get trapped in the filters.

Can air purifiers kill viruses?

Depending on the size of the virus and the filters used, yes, they can trap and kill viruses. A true HEPA filter can remove 99.97% of airborne particles down to 0.3 microns. They can even catch much smaller particles only at a lower capture rate. Models using plasmawave technology or UV-C lighting can kill microorganisms that are filtered out from the air and trapped inside the filters very quickly. 

It is important to note that while they can trap and kill a variety of airborne viruses, they will not eradicate those that have already settled onto indoor surfaces. It is recommended that disinfectants are used to clean surfaces when viruses are concerned to avoid any spread or cross contamination.

Are Air Purifiers noisy?

No, they are typically not noisy at all. Modern air purifiers are designed to be very quiet. If noise is a concern, we recommend looking at models that feature a dedicated sleep mode and auto mode. Sleep mode is ideal for quiet and light free filtration at night time. While auto mode runs at the quietest setting until the unit detects pollution in your air. When this happens it will temporarily run on a higher setting and then automatically return to the quietest setting after cleaning the air.

Do Air Purifiers use a lot of electricity?

No they don’t, thankfully they are extremely energy-efficient. The exact power consumption depends on the specific model but on average, the max consumption is around 55w when running on the highest setting. 

Are they easy to move?

Yes, air purifiers can easily be moved from one room to another. While they are not heavy products, if lifting is a concern for you, please view the product descriptions/specifications to find the lightest model that best suits your room size.

How long should I run my air purifier?

They are designed to safely run for twenty four hours a day. Many of our models have timer functions, which allows you to run them for a select amount of time. But running them 24/7 is going to provide you with the best results.

How often do filters need replacing?

Most quality brands include filter replacement indicators. If yours doesn't, keep track of usage and refer to the manufacturer's recommended replacement intervals.
